Deacon Joe's Homilies
Before I sit down to prepare a homily I do my best to study the scripture passage, pray with the scriptures and always ask the Lord for guidance as to what He wants his people to hear. If there is anything good in what you find here I freely give credit to the Holy Spirit. Anything that isn't good...well that's from me when I wasn't listening as well as I should.
These homilies were originally meant to be listened to and not read so you might find some notations, italics, underlines, or bold prints which were to remind me of when to pause or emphasize certain words or phrases. Because these are spoken homilies and not essays they may not follow strict rules of grammar and writing. None the less I hope you find something you can take from them.
In every homily, I try to give my listeners Jesus. I hope you too find Jesus in what you read here.
Peace,
Deacon Joe
